Burnout & Capacity Reflection Pack

A structured reflection tool to help you understand your current capacity, recognise patterns of strain and consider what recovery may need to look like in real life.

You can still be working, leading, caring for others and getting things done while your ability to recover is becoming increasingly depleted.

The FemExec Wellness Burnout & Capacity Reflection Pack helps you step back and notice what may be happening across your body, mind, emotional wellbeing, nervous system and wider life load.

It is designed to encourage reflection, not to give you a label.

Five areas of capacity

Rather than reducing burnout and recovery to a single score, the pack helps you notice where strain may be appearing across five areas of your current capacity.

  • Energy & body
  • Brain & cognition
  • Emotional state
  • Nervous system
  • Life load

Your overall score can be useful, but the pattern across these areas may tell you even more about where recovery is no longer keeping pace with demand.

Research context

Grounded in Burnout Research, Viewed Through a Rehabilitation Lens

Occupational burnout is commonly understood through three dimensions: exhaustion, increased mental distance or cynicism towards work, and reduced professional efficacy.

The FemExec Wellness Burnout & Capacity Reflection Pack uses this established understanding as a starting point and broadens the conversation through a recovery and rehabilitation lens.

Alongside occupational burnout, the pack considers areas such as energy, physical recovery, cognition, emotional wellbeing, nervous system recovery and wider life load.

The pack does not administer, reproduce or score the Maslach Burnout Inventory. The questions within the FemExec Wellness pack are original. The scoring ranges are intended to support reflection and conversation. They are not validated clinical cut-offs and should not be used to diagnose burnout.

The Heal Well Method™

A Recovery and Rehabilitation Lens

At FemExec Wellness, burnout recovery is approached through the Heal Well Method™.

The focus is not simply on helping someone cope with more pressure.

We look at what has been depleted, what is interfering with recovery and what may need to be restored so that health, capacity and sustainable performance can begin to return.

The Burnout & Capacity Reflection Pack offers an opportunity to begin noticing that pattern. Learn more about the Heal Well Method™.

About This Reflection Pack

The FemExec Wellness Burnout & Capacity Reflection Pack is an educational and self-reflection resource.

It is not a medical assessment, psychological assessment or diagnostic instrument and does not diagnose burnout.

Experiences such as fatigue, disrupted sleep, concentration difficulties, emotional changes and difficulty recovering can occur for many different reasons. If you are concerned about significant changes in your physical or mental health, speak with an appropriate healthcare professional.
